California Proposition 19 would legalize marijuana in the state. Physicians are divided; The SFMS supported Proposition 215 in 1996, which legalized “medical” use, but has taken no position on the current proposal. For medical perspectives and information on legalization from the California Society of Addiction Medicine – which also has not taken a position on Proposition 19 – see: http://www.csam-asam.org/CannabisInfo.vp.html
