The San Francisco Medical Society is a membership-based nonprofit organization that advocates for physician and patient rights, unites physicians of all specialties to create a solid local medical community, and works to improve the health of all San Franciscans by providing support and education to physicians and patients.
SFMS members and staff are deeply involved in the community and work on local policy issues; bring local problems to the state level; and mediate between physicians, patients, and insurers. The SFMS also hosts a variety of events with the goal of bringing the community together for networking and discussion regarding important topics in health care.
The SFMS strives to educate physicians, patients, and the public at large about important health care issues through our numerous communication vehicles—including the journal San Francisco Medicine, an e-newsletter, and this blog—and by offering seminars, webinars, and published educational materials on selected topics.
The San Francisco Medical Society’s primary purpose is to improve the health of all San Franciscans by uniting and supporting the local physician community.
